Version 15.8.08 New Features
Administration

Continuing with the enhancement enabling Preceda users to calculate certain leave payments using an employee's Average Hours (preceded by PREC-68441 and PREC 68437), the following updates have been implemented:
-
New option for Leave Units to be mandatory
A new field, Leave Units Mandatory, has been introduced as a new configuration option in Hours Type Code screen to make Leave Units mandatory. Note that this option will only be enabled for when Leave Units feature is enabled via Preceda Variable *PP_LEAVE_UNITS_AU and the corresponding Hours Type Code's Classification is 'L' (Long Service Leave) or 'O' (Other Leave).
When an Hours Type Code is configured with the "Leave Units Mandatory" option, Preceda applies validation during data entry/imports across various screens (EvSS, Retro EvSS, Prepay/Rebank EvSS, Express Pay/ Termination EvSS etc.) to ensure that Leave Units have been provided. If the Leave Units value is zero (0), Preceda will provide an error message, requiring the user to input a valid Leave Unit value before saving the transaction.
This new field is also added to the Hours Type Code extractor and mapper accordingly.
-
New option for Self Service calculations on Weeks
This feature facilitates automatic calculation of applicable leave units in weeks during the import of self-service transactions into the payroll, based on either a Days or Hours ratio.
A new configuration option in Self Service Options screen has been added to facilitate the option for leave units in Weeks to be calculated based on either Days or Hours. This feature will only be applicable when the Leave Units Mandatory option is flagged on the respective Hours Type Codes used in Self Service leave applications.

Ceridian HCM Holding Inc. has transitioned the company's brand to Dayforce effective last January 2024.
In line with this brand transition to Dayforce, Preceda required updates to replace the Ceridian branding particularly with the logo used on the logon page and within the product, as well as the copyright.
Integration

Some additional Dayforce Data Load Extractor views have been introduced to align with Dayforce Activate templates used to prepare customers for their Go-Live in Dayforce. Included are the employee's standard recurring allowances & deductions, unprocessed leave applications, and where required the employee's Year-to-Date information.
This extends and improves the amount of data that can be efficiently migrated to Dayforce, which will further assist the Services team and our SI Partners with the process of onboarding a Preceda customer in Dayforce.
Below lists the new Extractor Views that were added:
-
Payroll Elections/ Standard Allowance/ Deductions
The standard recurring Allowances and Deductions associated with an employee in Preceda, are maintained on the Allow/Deduct screen under Administration > Payroll Details. In Dayforce the details of these standard recurring values are maintained under People > Payroll > Payroll Elections.
To assist with migrating this data from Preceda to Dayforce, two new Extractor views were added, which are aligned with the associated templates in Activate.
-
Earning Election Data - This includes data from the employee Allow/Deduct records for taxable and non-taxable allowances.
-
Deduction Election Data - This includes data from employee Allow/Deduct records for before and after-tax deductions.
-
-
Year To Date Information
When migrating between payroll applications part way through a financial year, there may be a requirement to load the current employee Year-To-Date values into the new payroll application.
To assist with customers wishing to have Year-to-Date information migrated from Preceda to Dayforce, three new Extractor views have been introduced, which are aligned with the associated templates in Activate.
-
Earning YTD Data - This includes data from the employee PTD/YTD Allow/Deduct records for taxable and non-taxable allowances, as well as data from the employee PTD/YTD Hours records.
-
Deduction YTD Data - This will include data from the employee PTD/YTD Allow/Deduct records.
-
Tax YTD Data - This will include data from the employee YTD Gross, Tax & Net screen.
-
-
Time Away From Work Data - this will include data from the employee Self Services Transactions records, but only for leave related transactions which have not been paid/cancelled/declined.

For customers choosing Dayforce as their new HCM solution, there is a possibility that multiple, but not all, Payrun Groups will be included in the initial onboarding. Hence, we have now provided an ability for viewing the Dayforce Readiness Health Check items for multiple Payrun Groups, which will be based on the selection in the Dayforce Configuration screen.
The following updates were implemented to the System Health Check screen to improve usability of this feature for customers and Services consultants working with a Preceda database, to prepare it for onboarding data into the customer’s Dayforce instance using the Dayforce Activate tool:
-
Update to Blank Environment display of Dayforce Readiness Results
The employee related information displayed on the System Health Check screen is specific to the Payrun Environment that the user is currently active in. The results within a Payrun Environment are only relevant to the Payrun Group connected to that Environment. When in the "Blank" Payrun Environment, the System Health Check results display information for all employees from all Payrun Groups.
For some large customers, there is a potential that the onboarding to Dayforce will be done in stages. This could include the onboarding of multiple Payrun Groups, but not all of them. To assist the customer/Services consultant to manage this scenario, the logic for the Dayforce Readiness section when the user is in the "Blank" Payrun Environment has been updated. The employee related checks in this section will now include all employees who belong to the Payrun Groups that have been selected as an "Integration Candidate" via the Dayforce Configuration screen.
Please note that the behaviour within a Payrun Environment should continue to work as it does today. This should not be based on the Dayforce Configuration settings, but still display results for employees who belong to the Payrun Group connected to that Environment; even when this Payrun Group is not selected on the Dayforce Configuration screen.
-
Exclude Dayforce Readiness Items from Overall Health Percentage (%)
The errors displayed in the Dayforce Readiness section of the System Health Check will no longer be included in the overall totals seen at the top of the screen, as well as to the overall total displayed on the Payrun Dashboard screen.
As these Health Checks are specific to the requirements for cleansing customer data in preparation for migrating to Dayforce, they have no impact on the health of Preceda's payrun processing or legislative reporting.
Please note that the Dayforce Readiness section will be visible for customers who have chosen Dayforce as their new HCM solution, where Position 2 of Preceda Variable *PP_DFI_STATUS = 'Y'.
