Employee Clock Download
Preceda can produce an employee.txt file of all employees in Preceda Time that have been assigned to one or more clocking device/s. This file can then be uploaded to the Midnight Technologies clocks to enable the employee's name to appear on the clock screen when the employee punches in or out. This option downloads this file to the clocks.
Prerequisites
- To use this option, Time Clocks must be allocated to employees. This is achieved by placing the Clock ID for one or more clocks that the employee can use in the Time Clocks field on the Time Details screen. If an employee can use ALL clocks, an asterisk (*) should be entered in Time Clock 1 field on the Time Details screen.
- The Bundy Plus Clock Communications Software (ClockComms) must be loaded and configured on the device that runs the download.
- The following Prevar Settings must be set:
- *PRECEDATIME_CLKCOMM must define the path where the "ClockComms"software has been installed.
- *PRECEDATIME_EMPFILE must specify that the file "Employee.txt" will be created in the collection folder specified in the IFSPATH Prevar below.
- *PRECEDATIME_IFSPATH must specify the path where the "Employee.txt" will be created.
Rules and Guidelines
- ClockComms Clock Communication software must be installed to enable this option.
- Note that this screen is only available when using Internet Explorer. Please log in via the Internet Explorer if you wish to use this feature.
File Information
Transfer Employee Data to Clocks
When selected and processed successfully, the message Employee Data Transferred Successfully is displayed.

Transfer Punches From Clocks
- This option is not normally used. It is purely used here as a potential "Backup" option. In all cases, the polling of the transaction data from the clock/s is controlled by the ClockComms software.

This option will collect the data and load it into a file called transaction.csv in the directory specified in the Clock-CommsSystem. Preceda Connector is then used to transfer this data to Preceda Time Editor.
