SGC Shortfall

When running the SGC Processing window, Preceda compares the company's superannuation guarantee liability with contributions already made for each eligible employee. If a shortfall is found, a Time Entry Allowance/Deduction transaction is automatically generated for the relevant employee. This function generates shortfall amounts for employees and process them as prepayments in the next Payrun. These prepayments automatically have a Pay Slip ID of M.

Prerequisites

• SGC Shortfalls
• Ensure that the SGC Processing option is run before this process.

Rules and Guidelines

• The report generated lists all the SGC shortfalls generated as prepayments to be included in the next relevant Payrun.
• All employees with a generated shortfall amount are updated, regardless of employment status, e.g. Active or Terminated or if they are paid in the following Payrun.
• Transactions are created and will remain in the Time Details function until the next payrun is processed.
• As pay transactions are created to be processed via a Payrun, Costing and General Ledger details are generated for the SGC shortfall amount.
• This process cannot be rerun with out recovering or restoring files from a backup, or prepayments can be manually deleted by using the Entry option before running the SGC Processing window again.

Field Information

• Select Run Process to submits the NSE520 job.
• Once completed the report lists all the SGC shortfalls.
