This is the number that identifies the field.

• Date of Birth field is number 16.
• User Date fields are numbered 92 to 98 inclusive.
• User Fields are numbered 99 to 109 inclusive.
• Data Extension fields are numbered 201 to 299 inclusive.
• Talent Review fields are numbered 425 to 438 inclusive.

• Field number cannot be changed.

 

These fields display the starting and ending field position numbers in the file.

Example The ID Number starts at position 2 and ends at position 7. This indicates that the ID Number field is six characters long. (The positions are inclusive).

• Position number cannot be changed.

 

This is an abbreviated form of the field's description. It is used for technical purposes and cannot be changed.

The full description of the field is used for display and printing purposes.

This value should not be changed without consultation with the Support Team.

This field displays the description of the format of the field.

This refers to the number of years that history is kept for the selected field in the Maintenance History window, and only applies when the "Extract History" field contains a Y.

Note: The removal of history records older than this "Years Held" value is only performed when the Purge History process is run.

Is history going to be kept for this field in the Maintenance History window?

Y	Keep history for this field.
N	Do not keep history for this field.

Note: All changes will be included on the Maintenance Audit Report regardless of this setting,

Does Preceda require this field to be mandatory?

• If this field is flagged with Y, the User Mandatory field cannot be changed.

 

Is this field required to be mandatory?

• If the System Mandatory field is N, this field can be changed.

 

This field displays the name of the file that this field is held.

This field allows the user the option of generating a prompt list associated with a field number in the Data Extensions window.
